Program Overview
Learn how to interpret and create your own financial statements.
In the 4 courses in part 1, you will learn how to read, analyze, and interpret financial statements to make informed decisions. With my guidance, you will gain a comprehensive understanding of a company's financial situation and be able to confidently assess its performance. By the end of this course, you will have the skills to understand financial statements for any type of business.
This course includes instruction hours, time for Q&A using real life examples as well as mentoring hours.
This course will provide you with the essential skills to understand financial statements, enabling you to make sound financial decisions and increase your financial literacy. Additionally, it will teach you how to create your own financial statement, giving you the knowledge to potentially increase your return on investments and help you get ahead in your career.
Instructor
Candice is a Finance Director with a passion for helping VC and PE backed companies enhance their knowledge of financial information to drive growth. Her experience includes Finance Director and CFO roles for various private equity-backed businesses in both London and Europe. Candice served as Director of Finance at Lyft and is a seasoned mentor with 500 Global. Candice is a UK qualified Accountant, holds an MSc in Strategic Business Management, and is currently completing her Ph.D. in Corporate Finance through Auckland University.

Part 1 Schedule
Day 1
Introductions + Finance Function
Overview of the role of the finance function, its purpose and importance in any organization.
Understand key job roles and responsibilities as well as different financial frameworks.
Day 2
Income Statement
Learn how to interpret the income statement. Understand key terminology, general formatting and how to assess financial performance using a well-known publicly listed company.
Day 3
Balance Sheet
Learn about the two sections that make up a balance sheet, assets and liabilities. Understand how companies use assets and liabilities to their advantage, and how they fit with the income sheet and cash flow.
Day 4
Cash Flow
Understand the different types of cash flows, such as operating, investing, and financing. Learn how these cash flows are developed from the income statement and balance sheet. Gain insight into a company’s capital structure, investments and financing decisions.
Summary
End the program with a recap of each topic and key learnings.
